Tami Heide
Tami Heide, “The girl with two first names” is a trusted radio personality name and voice from 93.1 JACK FM/KCBS-FM and 106.7 KROQ in Los Angeles.
Tami got her start at 104.1 WBCN in Boston. You may know Tami from hosting nights and middays at KROQ, segueing from nights at WBCN in 1991. She has interviewed many icons during her radio tenure including David Bowie, Seal, Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan, Courtney Love, Oasis, Radiohead, Weezer, Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, Def Leppard, Chrissie Hynde, and anyone else who would talk with her. She was the announcer for MTV’s Singled Out for 3 of the show’s 5 seasons.
Before joining The WAVE air force in 2017, Tami was at JACK FM in Los Angeles. For the last decade, she has been the host of Openline, the Public Affairs program that airs on the 5 Audacy LA music stations (KROQ, KRTH, JACK FM, KAMP and The WAVE/KTWV). In addition, at JACK FM, Tami hosted and voiced Jacktivities, the 6x daily event report. You could also hear her on imaging pieces with JACK’s voice guy Howard Cogan. Tami was also part of the team of writers at JACK FM and will often claim that if you heard the JACK voice guy say anything funny, that she wrote it! That may or may not be true, but making things up is just part of Tami’s charm!
As Open Line’s host and now executive producer (Tami’s true passion), she does a weekly interview for the one hour, magazine style Public Affairs show. Open Line is produced in conjunction with KNX 1070 News Radio, and airs Saturday and Sunday mornings on Audacy radio stations to listeners in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
Matt and Ed Asner, Kerri Casem, Ed Begley Jr., and Bobby Brown were some of the Open Line guests, taking on topics including Autism, Elder Care, the Environment and Domestic Violence Prevention. Surfrider Foundation, Heal The Bay, Para Los Ninos, Let’s Buy A Mountain, Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Foundation, Operation Gratitude, P.A.T.H. People Assisting The Homeless, SPCA, Pasadena Humane Society and the L.A. Mission have all been welcome Open Line guests.
In addition, Tami is the weekday host of KROQ HD2/ROQ of the 80s since its relaunch in 2018.
